Cabinet Office/NSG - Protecting information

Data loss within government made national headlines in 2008, prompting a series of reviews calling for immediate training for all government staff. But delivering consistent training across the whole of government, was somewhat challenging!
E-learning was the obvious solution and ‘Protecting Information’ uses a succinct, scenario driven approach focusing on practical steps all civil servants can take to prevent loss of sensitive data.
The take-up has been phenomenal. Over 300 departments and agencies are using the programme and over 300,000 staff have completed the course and passed the test. With a cost per user of less than 20p, the programme has set a blueprint for future pan-government resource sharing. Download a full case study here.
