Oooooh my back! With 11 million work days lost and an annual cost to British business of £5 billion, back pain is no laughing matter.

With 50,000 employees, BA recognised the impact back pain was having on their business. They now train all staff, not just those who are lifting and carrying all day, using engaging e-learning modules alongside health and safety workshops.

Unlike many health and safety programmes, the focus is not just on work. It shows how to undertake everyday tasks such as carrying shopping, moving objects, and DIY, often the causes of days off work.
BA is delighted at the programme's success, which has seen a big reduction in days off with back pain.
