'Summing up my job is really simple: I try to break things.
I'm given a programme or a website to test, and I have to
find any glitches or breaks. I then have to try to discover
why they've happened.
'You don't need a huge amount of technical knowledge to
do this job - I was no more than competent with computer
technology before I started at Epic. It's more important
to be able to think in a logical and methodical way, and
to concentrate on details for long periods. Also, I find
it's important to imitate the behaviour of the typical user
when I'm testing something - what would they click on next?
Which path are they most likely to follow?
'There are good opportunities to learn at Epic. They tend
to move us from one project to the next every couple of
weeks, which keeps things fresh. The best thing, though,
is that I don't have to wear a suit!'
