Job description

 Job Title: Project Support Officer
Reports to: Production Team Leader

Main Purpose of Job:

Support Project Leaders in managing aspects of production. Responsible for monitoring projects, ensuring that they conform to Epic's production processes. Assist Production Directors in the resourcing and fiscal management of projects.

Main Duties:

  • Support Project Leader in plannning projects
  • Monitor budgets and schedules
  • Work closely with Project Leader to allocate and book resources and be the team's point of contact on all resourcing issues
  • Ensure the smooth day to day running of the project in your area of responsibility
  • Help prepare a weekly progress report and project reviews
  • Work directly with the Project Leader to ensure the effective timely delivery of the project and highlight any concerns
  • Champion and monitor quality process so that high standards are maintained at all times
  • Organise, brief and supervise the testing process
  • Organise and supervise voiceover and video shoots
  • Organise and monitor graphic development
  • Identify and recommend improvements to production processes

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the jobholder is required to perform other duties assigned by the manager from time to time.

Person Specification

Job related knowledge, skills and abilities

Essential

  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to work flexibly and on own initiative
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to monitor and resource projects
  • Ability to use MS Project and similar software tools
  • Knowledge of quality assurance procedures

Desirable

  • Understanding of project processes involved in the development of online solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of the theory of project management
  • Ability to identify and manage project risks
  • Understanding of fiscal management within commercial environments
  • Effective facilitation and meeting management skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships

  • Experience of working in a team
  • Experience of managing internal and external personnel and resources within a project

Desirable

  • Experience of managing production projects
  • Experience of motivating and communicating with individuals or groups
  • Experience of dealing with clients
  • Experience in managing budgets and fiscal arrangements
  • Experience in the production and delivery of technology-based-training or web applications
  • Experience in coaching team members
