Performance and career development
As one of the largest e-learning companies in the UK you have ample
opportunity to progress and develop your career at Epic as we have
clear job roles with job descriptions. Salary reviews take place
annually and all vacancies are advertised internally. We also have
a full and detailed performance development system and encourage
a learning culture.

As well as your basic salary and holiday entitlement, all permanent
staff participate in a performance related pay scheme, with 5% of
all profits annually distributed on the basis of performance. Overtime/time
off in lieu is also available. Both Life Assurance and a stakeholders
pension scheme are available to all permanent staff on completion
of their probationary period.
We recognise that house prices in Brighton are high, so we have
interest-free housing loans for first time buyers. We also provide
childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme and in most divisions flexible
start and finish times.
Induction and on-going development
We have a detailed and informative induction process at Epic which
comprises of information and a demonstration CD-ROM about Epic.
Your line manager will provide you with guidance and support and
you will be allocated a buddy to help you settle in. The HR manager
will provide you with a company presentation within your first month
of joining, and the induction will extend over many weeks.
All sales staff have been put through a formal blended sales training
course and regular monthly sale meetings focus on training and knowledge
dissemination within the sales team. This course is a mix of e-learning
and workshops. We have a formal programme of open events for all
staff and a full formal curriculum called ‘The Business of
Design’. This covers all aspects of our business including
client communications, organisational benefits of e-learning, change
management, psychology of learning, blended learning, content, simulations,
games, collaborative learning, media mix, assessment, return on
investment, accessibility, technology and testing. We ALSO have
a formal design mentoring programme with experienced design associates.
Many other courses in technical areas such as Flash have been delivered
as well as sessions on management and marketing.
Work environment
Our office is located in the centre of town, close to the lanes,
shops, bars and restaurants. It is easily accessible by public transport.
Staff are permitted to use the staff car park on evenings and at
weekends. Internally, we work in a listed Regency building with
a staff rest area. Dress code is very casual however appropriate
dress code is required for client meetings and Company representation.

Our HR Manager is on hand every day to provide support and guidance
to staff and managers on work related queries.
