Change in non-executive directorships
Epic, the UK's leading e-learning company, today announced that
Brian Stevens, has been appointed a Non-Executive Director with
immediate effect. Epic also announced that David Bull, currently
Non-Executive Deputy Chairman, has stated his intention to step
down following greater responsibilities in an extended executive
position with Scotland Online.
Brian Stevens is the Chairman of Finance and Education Services
("FEdS"), an organisation that works with business, education
and government to improve skills within the working environment.
At the core of FedS, Brian runs The Business Forum for Lifelong
Learning, a focus group made up of over 50 national and multinational
companies.
Prior to these roles, Brian was Director of External Relations
at the British Bankers' Association, between 1995 and 1996
an advisor to the Commons Select Committee on Education and
Employment and the business representative on the then Secretary
of State's Advisory committee on School Improvement. Between
1985 and 1995 Brian was Director of the Banking Information
Service ("BiS") part of the British Bankers Association where
he was involved in establishing a number of organisations
focusing on strategic training issues.
Brian Stevens has also confirmed that there is no additional
information with regards to his appointment that would require
disclosure pursuant to paragraph (f) of Schedule Two of the
AIM Rules.
David Bull, the Non-Executive Deputy Chairman, who has served
as a director since 10 September 1999, has stated his intention
to step down from the Board on 31 May 2003. David recently
became Executive Chairman of Scotland Online and with his
increased responsibilities wants to concentrate on the new
role.
Michael Inwards, the Chairman, commented:
"We are delighted that Brian Stevens has agreed to join the
Board. The wealth of knowledge he brings, especially in government
related online learning, increases Epic's penetration in the
public sector as we increasingly focus on government, health
and education contracts. Clearly his experience with banking
organisations and multinational companies also benefits our
work in the private sector.
It is with sadness that we see David Bull leave us. He has
made an enormous contribution to the growth of Epic and, on
behalf of the Board, I would like to wish him well for the
future."
