Epic program selected for WOLCE awards
The recent NHSU project 'Working for the NHS' from Epic has been
shortlisted for the forthcoming World
of Learning Awards 2004. The event, due to take place on the
17th November in Birmingham, pits Epic and NHSU's joint contribution
against some well known competitors in the blended solution of the
year category.
The interactive induction and learning programme features 30 minutes
of video drama.
The narrative follows the lead character from when he has a stroke
in a busy shopping centre through the stages of his treatment and
recovery. The content introduces many roles in NHS, including paramedics,
a chef, a social worker and a consultant, but also features real
interviews, with key NHS figures, including Nigel Crisp, the chief
executive.
The video is delivered within a PowerPoint based e-learning platform
created by Epic. Epic contracted Nice Media to film the video content,
which Nice shot on high-end DVCam and delivered as compressed MPEG-1
files.
