Are you research-minded?
The Research Mindedness Virtual Learning Resource, a website to
help students and practitioners of social care and social work make
greater and more effective use of research in their studies and
in practice has been launched on the web at: www.resmind.swap.ac.uk
Designed by Epic, the UK market leader in e-learning, blended learning
and knowledge solutions on behalf of the Centre for Human Service
Technology, School of Social Sciences, University of Southampton,
the redevelopment has been funded by the Social Care Institute for
Excellence (SCIE).
The resource was first launched in 2000. However, following a critical review by social work academics, practice teachers, trainers and learners in early 2003, the resource has been extensively redesigned and expanded.
Jackie Rafferty, Director, CHST said: 'This is the Centre for Human Service Technology's first collaboration with a commercial elearning developer and we have been pleased with their adapability and professionalism. The redeveloped learning resource has benefited from their design expertise.'
On behalf of Epic, John Harris, Director of Education, said: 'This is a very worthwhile project that Epic is pleased to be involved in. It has been a harmonious and productive partnership; a good example of public/private co-operation that really works. We particularly like their attention to detail and concern to meet the needs of both social work students and practitioners.'
