Intelligent analysis of your website statistics can yield vital information about user behaviour to help fine-tune the effectiveness of a site. Epic offers a full Web Analytics service based on Google Analytics. How Epic use Google Analytics

Epic's preferred analytics solution is based on Google Analytics software.

With Google Analytics, which comes free of charge, all the relevant information needed to analyse performance is easily locatable in one place. Reports can be automatically generated, meaning that there is no need to transfer information into Excel.

Epic works with clients to put an appropriate Web Analytics Measurement Framework in place (see diagram). Analytics data can be compared against key performance indicators (KPIs) and used to improve a website's effectiveness.

Clients can use the information provided to manage their bandwidth usage, for instance - or to see which sites, or parts of an individual site, are the most and least used. Google Analytics can also be used to optimize AdWords advertisements and marketing campaigns through its analysis of where the visitors came from, how long they stay on the website and their geographical position.

Our analytics service

The service consists of three key elements:

  • Analytics audit and scoping - we work with you to clarify required KPIs (e.g. visitor numbers, source of visits, top exit pages etc), then suggest software that meets your needs. In most situations, Google Analytics is entirely suitable, but if not we will suggest a preferable alternative.
  • Installation and testing - we implement and test the tracking code which allows the analytics software to start reporting on your site.
  • Monthly analysis and reporting - Epic's web team review monthly analytics data, compare it with KPIs, provide a written report to highlight site performance against trend, and suggest possible enhancements and solutions.
