Coming soon... Open Source LMS white paper

The next white paper from Epic is about open source learning management systems. Everyone’s talking about Moodle of course, but it was never intended as a ‘one-size-fits-all’ system. While Moodle basks in the limelight, there are 50 other open source LMS projects beavering away in the background. Some are relatively new, others are a decade old; some have a few developers, others have large global development teams; some are mature and robust, others are incomplete and buggy. All are subjected to our rigorous study as we peer through the clutter and report on the state of the open source LMS landscape in mid-2007.
 
But we don’t stop there. The top products are singled out for review and we take a look at a range of common LMS environments: primary and secondary school, medium sized business and large enterprises. All have different requirements for their LMS, or at the very least will place different weightings on certain features, and our white paper provides people from these types of organisations with recommendations as to which open source LMS is best suited to their environment.
