“How much per hour (and what exactly is ‘an hour’)?”
Steve
Mackenzie, Business Development Manager, Epic
Steve Mackenzie is opening the upcoming eLearning Network event
on “elearning Costs” at The Society of Chemical Industry
on 24th November with a presentation entitled “How much per
hour?” With his experience of working for both an e-learning
supplier and an e-learning client, Steve Mackenzie will set the
scene for the day, by exploring some of the key issues around pricing
from the perspective of those involved in procuring e-learning,
and from those responsible for the development of e-learning.
“An hour” is the usual measure by which e-learning
prices are compared, but what do we mean by “an hour”
and exactly what is included in that hour? For example, does the
cost include all the elements of e-learning production? What degree
of flexibility is there in changing the design or content within
the course as it is developed or do all alterations become costed
change requests? In fact is “an hour” the best measure
to use – is there anything better? What’s the best way
for both clients and suppliers to decide on a mutually agreeable
cost for e-learning? Steve Mackenzie considers these points and
many others.
