Epic provide photo shoot training for BA e-learning managers
British Airways has worked with Epic, the UK’s premier production house for online learning content, to give their e-learning project managers training in photoshoot planning and implementation. Relevant, high quality imagery plays a key role in producing high end e-learning, and the purpose of the training was to up-skill BA’s e-learning managers to enable them to hold their own photo shoots in-house when required.
A considerable amount of planning goes into such photo shoots, including managing actors, staff, provision of props and uniforms, as well as arranging access to high security areas for the crew. By up-skilling BA staff, images from restricted areas in the airport and on planes can be taken onsite by BA without having to organise access for a whole crew and without compromising the consistency of the graphics by using images from photo libraries. Epic worked in partnership with BA to source the right photographic equipment, and then spent a day at the BA offices training managers on how to execute a photo shoot from start to finish.
The training, led by Epic’s photographic expert Casper Hoskins, was a great success. Wendy Stubbs, e-learning and programme manager for British Airways said: ‘The team had a really fun day and lots of time to practise using the other half of our team to be models. Lots of really useful tips on how to get the most out of your model, who may be a bit camera shy (give them a pencil to hold!!) A very enjoyable day and lots of professional pictures of our team to boot.’
With an expert and well-established media production capability, Epic is uniquely placed to offer capability building services in many areas of media production for client teams.
