Epic make Age Awareness training available for free as part of National Learning at Work Day

Epic is supporting the Campaign for Learning’s National Learning at Work day on May 22nd by making our Age Awareness e-learning programme available for FREE between May 22nd and June 5th. The programme is an engaging 60-minute piece of online training and is available at www.epic.co.uk/age_awareness.php. We're delighted to be able offer to this professional e-learning programme as part of Learning at work day. The more initiatives that highlight the importance of training at work the better.

Age discrimination is an important subject. It affects the aspirations of both young and old, and prevents organisations from reaping the benefits of an age-diverse workforce. Following the introduction of the Age Discrimination regulations 2006, it also exposes organisations that discriminate to penalties and fines.

Epic’s Age Awareness programme reduces the likelihood of these penalties by helping managers recognise their role in preventing age discrimination in the workplace. Additionally, the programme helps all employees be aware of how the regulations affect them. More specifically the programme covers:

Who is affected by age discrimination

The nature of the Age Discrimination regulations 2006

How the regulations affect recruitment and selection

How the regulations affect promotion and training

How the regulations affect dismissals

How the regulations affect retirement

The programme concludes with a full assessment. For those that pass there is a completion certificate that can be printed off and used as proof of having completed the course.

Jonnie Jensen, marketing director at Epic says "Epic are excited to again be part of Learning at Work Day. Training staff improves performance, increases morale and encourages staff retention. The more initiatives that highlight these and the many other benefits the better. We are delighted once again to be supporting this initiative".
