The Natural History Museum invests in e-learning with Epic

The Natural History Museum has recently commissioned Epic to produce bespoke e-learning for their 'Health and Safety' and 'Fire Safety' training to be rolled out to new starters within their first few weeks of employment. This is an exciting initiative, which will no doubt pave the way for others in the Museums and Galleries sector.

Once success has been realised, the flexibility and adaptability of the e-learning will enable the Museum to issue customised versions for associate organisations, on completion of a training workshop in use of Epic's Refresh maintenance tool.

Joanne Jackson, Business Development Manager at Epic, says: “We are delighted to be working with the Natural History Museum on such an exciting project. E-learning is an excellent solution for the Museum sector, and the model that we will supply is quite unique. We look forward to the success of this programme and utilising our expertise to provide long term solutions which can be rolled out across various Museums and Art Galleries.”

Alex Ong, Learning and Development Adviser and Project Manager at the Natural History Museum, says:“Having recently gained OHSAS 18001 accreditation, we are very excited to be leading the way forward with Epic on this e-learning initiative for the Museum industry. The course developed is an excellent solution to our requirements. We look forward to launching the programme in June, to seeing the success rate, and then potentially rolling it out to our associates.”
