Team Epic raises over £4,000 in Capital to Coast bike ride
A 17 strong team of cyclists from Epic raised over £4,000 by completing this year’s Capital to Coast bike ride on July 13th.
Starting out from Esher College in Surrey, along with 1,400 other riders, the team tackled the scenic 60 mile journey back down to Epic's home city of Brighton & Hove. The fund raising effort saw Epic, a leading e-learning and web services company, sponsor the team its entry fee and match the amount raised by staff members. The riders finished in a range of times between two and a half and four hours.
The ride was organised by one of the UK's leading children and family services charities, Norwood, and raised funds for four partner charities; Norwood, Sparks, the Down's Syndrome Association and Southern FM's Help A Local Child.
Richard Jones, Epic's Finance Director said:
"Amounts pledged are still going up but we currently stand at around £3,400, which will be worth over £4,000 to the charities when gift aid is added. I think this is a staggering amount. It was great to be part of such a big team effort and a brilliant day was had by all."
