Epic and Diageo shortlisted for 2008 E-learning Age award
The People Manager Diagnostic Tool developed by Epic in partnership with Diageo has been shortlisted for the "Most innovative new product or tool in e-learning" category at the 2008 E-learning Age awards.
Diageo’s business strategy roadmap states that by 2011, all Diageo employees will work for a great people manager. To help achieve this goal Epic was invited to design an online diagnostic tool that matches specific training and development activities to each manager’s personal development needs.
Based on an existing paper-based profiling questionnaire developed by Diageo, the tool analyses an individual’s responses to statements on Diageo’s nine areas of People Management, to provide managers with individual learning paths. This pinpoints specific areas of need and recommends the most appropriate training solutions from Diageo’s wide portfolio of courses, workshops and other training activities.
Iain Clements, Diageo’s Learning Management System Specialist says, “I am very pleased that the Diagnostic Tool content has been shortlisted for this year’s award. We’ve received great feedback from the module in its first 3 months of use at Diageo, with over 300 people managers having signed up for the tool.”
The tool is the result of a highly effective collaborative approach between Epic and Diageo. Carys Rowan, Epic’s Account Manager says, “We’re delighted the programme has been recognised as an exemplar e-learning tool. Diageo and Epic have worked brilliantly together and make an excellent team. Winning an award would be the icing on the cake!”
The awards will be announced Thursday 6 November 2008.
