Inside Epic
e-learning
So far October has been a busy month for our development within
the financial services sector. Specifically we have been undertaking
work covering:
Anti Money Laundering
Product Knowledge
Mortgages
Induction Training
Epic continues to bring value to the education sector and has secured
work as part of a national programme.
Consulting update
The Consulting team has been focusing on planning for the busy
season of thought leadership events, workshops and conferences.
In addition to this, we have been working on updating our learning
service offer for clients who wish to build their own in-house rapid
development capabilities. Typically, whether a LCMS is in place
or not, the skills, tools and processes for achieving rapid development
always have room for improvement. The team have been looking at
refining some best-practice advice gained from our experiences in
this area over the past two or three years.
Epic professional
We have now completed the "Leadership and Management"
programme. This is essentially the You lead e-learning content broken
down into 51 separate "Scorm" compliant topics which can
be loaded onto client intranets or LMSs. A text only version of
You lead has also been developed. As this provides an alternative,
more accessible version of the content it will allow us to sell
more effectively to public sector clients. Many thanks to Sabine,
Jonathan C, Marcus and Jenny Rolfe for all their hard work on this.
Finally, products now have a presence on the Epic website! A number
of pages have been put together containing product details, screen
shots and some Captivate demos. When you get the chance check it
out. Feedback would also be appreciated.
Web
We have seen a couple of important launches in the Web Division.
Firstly, we've been working closely with the Houses of Parliament
to give www.parliament.uk a much needed face-lift. And secondly,
we've just re-launched our very own new, improved Epicentre website
( www.epicentre.co.uk).
At the other end of the project lifecycle, we've just kicked off
the next phase of development on the Aimhigher student portal (www.aimhigher.ac.uk),
working with HERO, one of our major clients. Plans for the site
are still under discussion but are likely to include a new look,
lots of new content and more interactive features.
Epicentre
The new Epicentre website has been launched, with particular focus
on accessibility, as seen in the news. As well as an "Intelligence"
section, giving industry news, the site also includes a client-login
feature, which gives access to project specifics as well as more
in-depth information, pertinent to particular industry sectors.
Epicentre has also been reconstructed. Whilst Ewen is still the
overall manager, Luke Thompson and Joe Mattinson have become external
and Internal Testing Managers respectively. It is hoped that this
will bring more focus to each facet of the test team.
