Epic is a consistent winner of awards for:

Leadership

Our CEO, Donald Clark, won the first Achievement in E-learning Award at the World Open Learning Conference (WOLCE) for building Epic into the UK's leading e-learning company.

Quality product

Epic collected a Brandon Hall Excellence in E-learning Award, at the ceremony held in Los Angeles, for its PITstart e-learning programme, created for PricewaterhouseCoopers. The awards are organised by the Brandon Hall organisation, which benchmarks excellence within the global industry.

Epic won the Adult Learning category of the Learning On Screen awards, for its PITstart e-learning programme, created for PricewaterhouseCoopers. The PITstart programme was designed to develop the key skills of PwC tax professionals required to solve international tax issues.

Epic's online kiosk, WebZone, won the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) Award for best online entertainment application. WebZone is a kiosk on which punters can surf the net, gamble for drinks using onscreen scratchcards, play a quiz, videoconference or take pictures of themselves via a digital camera.

Epic's e-learning programme produced for Video Arts also won one of these industry 'Oscars' - the learndirect Award for Training at the BIMA Awards. The judges said, Demanding Customers (Customer Care) was of 'exemplary interactive instructional design'.

Epic's Planet Britain, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office's marketing hybrid CD ROM/Web project, won an award in the consumer-based information category at the '98 New York International Interactive Multimedia Competition.

Financial performance

Epic won the Best AIM Company Award. Epic's CEO, Donald Clark picked up the award in a glittering ceremony at the Grosvenor Hotel in London's West End. Epic is a profitable e-learning company and was one of the top performing shares on the stock market.

Epic won the Business of the Year Award in the Sussex Business Awards.

Epic was voted No 1 by its industry peers in Televisual Magazine's fourth annual survey. The survey compared companies across categories such as number of staff, turnover, commissions, awards won and the company's reputation among its peers.

Measured impact on business

Epic won the UK's top e-learning award, the Award for E-learning, presented at the Personnel Today Awards in London, for work on behalf of The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Epic created more than 100 hours of content for the company's Training and Communication Network. The TCN reaches some 20,000 staff in 650 branches. One of the award's judges, Clive Shepherd, commented: 'As a result of its e-learning programme, the bank received a 700 per cent return on its investment and the programme has been rolled out throughout NatWest. This is probably the most successful example so far of the application of e-learning to UK business.'

The RBS manager for training and online learning said: 'We are thrilled to have won this award which emphasises even further our commitment to e-learning. It also cements the excellent working relationship we have had with Epic for many years.'

Innovation

Epic won the Business Innovation of the Year Award, and were on the same night runners-up for the Business of the Year. Innovations in products, processes and marketing were all noted by the judges making Epic a clear winner for innovation across all aspects of its business.

Epic won a DTI SMART Award for the development of an online training system. This innovative system puts Epic at the forefront of e-learning development in the UK with its reinforcement of learning techniques and delivery capability.
