Daily Telegraph: Questor
An Epic set of numbers for the UK's leading online learning
company. The Brighton-based education and e-learning business
Epic Group, whose client list includes the government, the
financial sector and various IT and telecoms companies, yesterday
cheered investors with a maiden dividend, while it also released
record full-year results.
Computer-based learning started off in the early 1990s, when
CD-Roms were used to teach students or train staff...
Trading conditions have been tough recently, with companies
spending less than usual on traditional training and IT. But
the online learning market on the other hand has seen rapid
expansion. On the back of that development, Epic increased
its sales in the year ended 31 May by 21pc to £8.7m, while
profits before tax shot up 125pc to £1.8m.
The company's chief executive, Donald Clark, said the results
were "pretty good," adding Epic had ventured out into a new
market, the health sector.
