Creating optimal blends
Epic's structured process for creating scalable, sustainable blends
focuses on:
- Components
- Criteria
- Categories
Components - We have defined the components, in terms of
delivery method and media, that can be drawn on for any particular
blend, together with their strengths and possible weaknesses. These
include a wide range of both online and offline learning methods.

Criteria - In deciding the right blend to make of these
components, we have identified six key criteria you need to take
into account:
- learning
- learners
- maintenance
- scalability
- resources
- sustainability
Taking into account all these factors, an optimal blend can be
created and fine-tuned that is appropriate to the organisation's
culture and infrastructure.
Categories - The following categorisation of blends shows
a variety of blends both simple and complex.

1. Component

2. Integrated

3. Collaborative
