On April 10th, Epic’s Head of Mobile Learning, Marcus Boyes, will be taking part in a marathon throwing session with his Aikido club – Mushin Juku Dojo – in aid of Save the Children: Japan Earthquake Tsunami Relief.

The 9.0 magnitude earthquake and consequent devastating tsunami in Japan have claimed the lives of over 12,000 with more than 15,000 still missing since it hit on March 11th. Hundreds of thousands more are left without homes and living in temporary shelters.

The money raised by the Mushin Juku Dojo club will go towards the Save the Children project in Japan, who is providing relief for children and families, including specially equipped spaces where children can play and talk about what they have been through, under the care of trained adults.

The fundraising session will involve 1,000 or more throws in an hour, Japanese food sale and a demonstration about Aikido.

Epic are proud to be supporting the cause and wish the club all the best for the day.
