In May, a team of staff from Epic took part in the 2010 Heroes Run in Brighton.

The Heroes Run was originally set up by two friends who were looking for a novel way of fundraising. In their own words, the idea came out because they ‘love fancy dress, enjoy running and live in Brighton’. All funds raised by the event go to Passingiton, a charity that raises money to build schools and support education in some of the poorest areas of Africa. Competitors can run as any superhero they like.

Participants can choose either the 5km or 10km run, with both routes running along the length of Brighton seafront. Having completed the 5k run last year, the 10-strong Epic team, which included Superman, Wolverine, Batman and Robin, bravely opted for the 10k route. Supported by their colleagues at Epic, the team managed to raise over £1,000 and are already planning their costumes for next year’s event!
