Epic’s Marathon Man

April was a busy month for Epic’s Lead Developer, Wai Lam Yau, as he completed two marathons to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
On Sunday 18th April, Wai was one of the thousands of runners who took part in the first ever Brighton Marathon, completing the run in just over 5 hours. However, not content with this, just one week later, Wai laced up his running trainers once again to complete the London Marathon.
Wai comments: “After finishing the Brighton Marathon, I was looking forward to going all out for the London Marathon in 7 days time to try and beat my Brighton time. After a week’s rest, and plenty of pasta, I completed the 26.2 miles – I was very happy as I managed to beat my Brighton finishing time by about 45 minutes!”
Sponsorship from Wai’s colleagues at Epic helped him to raise over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.
