Epic to attend 2011 Learning Technologies exhibition

Epic is delighted to announce that that we will be attending the 2011 Learning Technologies exhibition at Olympia on the 26th and 27th January.
As a veteran exhibitor at Learning Technologies, Epic will be providing expert advice and tips on how to develop effective e-learning on Stand 54. We will also be demonstrating a number of our programmes, including the Editorial Guidelines e-learning recently developed for the BBC and an Aviation Medicine (AvMed) programme developed for British Airways, which recently won an E-learning Gold Award for ‘Excellence in production of learning content’.
Epic will also be holding two seminars. ‘Going Mobile’ will look at three very different mobile learning Apps developed by Epic: a First Aider App, a Maths Revision App and an App called “How to use LinkedIn to get a job”. Epic’s Director of Learning, Dr Naomi Norman and Head of Mobile, Marcus Boyes will guide attendees through what promises to be a fascinating insight into mobile learning design.
Our second seminar 'Telling stories using learning technologies' will explore how storytelling appears in many different formats in e-learning. In this interactive seminar, Dr Naomi Norman will develop a story collaboratively with the audience in order to produce a piece of e-learning which will be available for viewing online the next day.
Dr Naomi Norman, Epic’s Director of Learning says of the event: “I am delighted to be talking at Learning Technologies this year on what I believe will be two of the most exciting and talked-about kinds of e-learning for 2011 – mobile learning apps; and storytelling through video. Both have huge potential to offer a different kind of pedagogy that is engaging and can be developed cost-effectively too.”
As well as the seminars, Naomi has also prepared two white papers on these topics, which will be distributed via Epic’s stand, number 54.
