Epic wins International Mobile Learning Award

Epic is delighted to have been awarded the 2010 Business/Professional Mobile Learning award from the International E-learning Association (IELA). The win comes for Epic’s ‘Operation Numerika’ programme, developed for the Nintendo DS to teach British Army recruits basic numeracy. These awards are truly global, with entrants from as far afield as Austria, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Finland, Canada, Greece and Germany, with winners announced at the Interactive Computer Aided Learning (ICL) conference in Hasselt, Belgium.
Marcus Boyes, head of Epic’s mobile division, comments: “We’re honoured to have been recognised by the IELA and are over the moon to have won this prestigious award. Bearing in mind the intense competition, it’s a great endorsement of our innovative design. This award is simply a sign of great things to come - I can promise this is just the start of the exciting mobile projects that will be coming out of Epic in the near future.”
The programme, which also won Gold for ‘Best use of mobile learning’ at the 2009 e-learning awards and was highly commended at the 2010 IVCA awards, symbolises a real breakthrough in mobile learning. Click here for further details.
