Free mobile application and white paper

With over 150 attendees and a heavyweight debating panel including leading thinkers in mobile learning, such as Professors John Traxler and Mike Sharples, our debate on smartphones in learning was the best attended seminar at Learning Technologies 2010.
Following the event we have released a new White Paper entitled Smartphones: A smart way forward for learning. This explores how improved functionality and design as well as market proliferation mean these devices are now finally primed as effective mobile learning tools. The White Paper can be downloaded for free from our website at: http://www.epic.co.uk/thinking/white-papers.html
To show the potential for learning on smartphones, We have also released a new learning application, The First Aider, available free of charge from their website. The app brings to life the curriculum for the Emergency First Aid at Work certificate introduced by the Health and Safety Executive last October. You can access the app via a smartphone of course, initially as a web app at: www.epic.co.uk/firstaider
Even if you haven’t got a smartphone, the app can be viewed via a PC at www.epic.co.uk/mobile.
We are currently developing further mobile apps for release later this year. For more information, please contact Epic on +44 (0)1273 728686 or email contactenquiries@epic.co.uk.
