The Right Honourable Tom Watson MP, Minister for Transformational Government and Minister for Digital Engagement, mentioned Epic's ‘Protecting Information' e-learning programme in his key note speech at the Games Based Learning 2009 event.

Having reviewed the programme, the Minister stated that "there's a place for games and e-learning in every aspect of government", and that the UK had "...a global reputation for its e-learning products."

Protecting Information is a multi-level programme designed to meet information governance training requirements across the public sector. Originally commissioned by the Cabinet Office and the National School for Government, the programme was designed for use by agencies and departments throughout the public sector. Epic's brief was to ensure that the programme could work on any public sector IT infrastructure or LMS, a challenge that required consultation with technical representatives from across government and delivery of a highly flexible technical solution. The programme's success is reflected by its widespread adoption by over 100 cross-government agencies, with over 20,000 current users.
